Alison & Joyce
Our Victorian walled garden is situated in the beautiful Northumberland countryside of the North Tyne Valley.
Visitors are welcome to walk around our labelled borders which are packed with a wide range of plants of interest to both the plant enthusiast and the novice gardener.
All of our plants are nurtured in the Northumberland climate where they are fully hardy and many of the plants growing in the garden are offered for sale.
Specialities include Eryngiums, hardy Geraniums, Geums and Violas.
Most of our plants are available by mail order.
Chipchase Garden Shop
Come and visit our garden ‘bothy’ shop, where you can shelter, sit down and take advantage of our self-serve teas/fresh coffees. It may also provide some respite for ‘non-gardeners’ accompanying their green fingered friends or family members. We’ll try to make sure there is something non-horticultural for these heathens to read.
In addition we stock a small selection of locally produced items all with a gardening or plant related theme. At the moment we have a selection of Chipchase seeds, new and second-hand gardening books, handmade clay pots from ‘The Potting Shed’ in Hexham, glassware from ‘Papershed’ in Morpeth, and gardener’s skin care products from ‘Lotions and Potions’ in Bellingham, as well as photographs and cards produced by local people.
